Sibutramine is a chemical considered similar with amphetamine. These have been rampant in the market, most especially in the online market making it easier to access for most buyers who seem to be desperate to lose weight.
Most of these products actually came from China. The Feds and the American Dietetic Association and some other concerned groups have actually expressed alarm on the known side effects of sibutramine. Some of the side effects include stroke, high blood pressure, heart attack and seizures. The FDA has also launched a crack down against those products several years ago. Another wave was done that was centered in Illinois.
Don’t Just Look at the Label
If you think checking out the labels of weight loss pills would be an enough safety measure, then you are wrong. Unfortunately, merely checking the label is apparently not enough. Most of these products are often illegal and the labels do not seem to disclose its actual content particularly the presence of sibutramine. These products are often claiming to be “all natural” even if it is not. In addition, most of the Asian sellers actually pose as Canadian pharmacy services claiming to offer safe and effective herbal weight loss products.
One practical tip to avoid such dangerous weight loss products is to stick with established national brands even if you are to spend more bucks. It is better to do transactions with known and established brands in your area than risking your health on cheap and unknown bogus “herbal” weight loss products. You may also check the product through the FDA if you want to make sure.
